The Travis' Go Camping

OK so let me first off saying 'I Don't Camp' I grew up with a sister so the need to camp was never a issue in our household, it was more like 'My sister keeps hogging the bathroom'. Over the last couple of months Ryan and I have been buying things to go camping. Well this weekend was the weekend we went.

It was Ryan's Crew and their wives. We had a great time, I really thought I was not going to like it but I actually had a great time. This was my first time and I was a little nervous on our way up, but my wonderful husband assured me I will be fine.

We arrived on Saturday afternoon and met 1 other couple and their 7 month old baby, So we started to set up camp. We did some Quading and relaxed by the fire and had some dinner and waited for Aleks and Heather to arrive. When they got their we roasted some smores and sat by the fire and talked and starred at the stars. We were in Pine, Arizona which is 8000ft and about 35 degrees cooler than Phoenix.

So the night before we arrived the couple that was there told us that there was a BEAR in camp the night before so you could only imagine how excited I was to go to our tent and sleep that night. So Ryan and I go into our tent and I couldn't sleep, I heard every little noise out there, but I eventually went to sleep.

Sunday morning we waited for the others to arrive, Ryan made chocolate chip pancakes and we enjoyed breakfast and coffee with everyone by the fire. After everyone got there and set up camp the boys were so excited so they went quading while us ladies stayed at camp and played cards. Later that day/night Ryan and I took a quad ride through the forest and saw some cows, we had an amazing time spending alone time together.

That night we had dinner and relaxed. There was a man next to us at camp and he was a really nice guy, he is in his 60's and spends his time camping through out the state. His name was 'Jim' and was a really nice guy he had 3 little miniature wiener dogs, I had a soft spot in my heart for him. Ryan and I made him dinner, breakfast and then this morning we gave him all of our left over things we didn't need, ie: water, toilet paper, cookies and other snacks. It is always great knowing we are helping people out when they don't even expect it.
