Its About Time!

Well this will be my first posting on here so bear with me. As all of you know Marissa and I are huge hockey fans and are devoted season ticket holders for the Phoenix Coyotes. Marissa grew up in Michigan and therefore has always been a Detroit Red Wings fan also. Well twice a year Marissa gets to see her hometown team come to town and usually destroy my Coyotes. These 2 games are the only time that Marissa dusts off her Red Wings jersey and shows her hometown pride. Well this game was a little different. Affer losing to the wings 9 times in a row the Coyotes FINALLY learned how to beat the Wings.

Marissa and I before the game. (Notice the smile on Marissa's face)

Opening Faceoff

After realizing there was no hope for her team Marissa was pretty sad.
Final Score: Coyotes 6 Red Wings 3

Celebration after time runs out. Marissa wanted to leave and not stick around for the celebration

A Visit from Steve and an Update

I know I know it has been a few weeks since I have posted. Last week Ryan's Cousin Steve came to Arizona for a Weather Conference that was being help in downtown Phoenix. We knew for a few months that he would being coming so we made sure that we were available for him. On Monday night Ryan, me, Linda, Bob, Brady, Krys and Steve of course we went to Fridays Front Row, which is Friday's Restaurant that is inside Chase Field where the Arizona Diamondbacks play. Steve is a huge baseball fanatic so it was great to show him a truly amazing field. After dinner we walked through the EMPTY streets of Phoenix. Even though we only saw him 1 night it was nice seeing him.

On Thursday I received a phone call at work from Ryan asking me if it was okay for him to go to Baltimore again in May. Last May and July he went there to read and review grants, it is a huge honor to go and only a few people from a few states get to go and last year he was Lucky enough to go twice. Well this year he is going again. In July I met him in Washington DC and we made a vacation out of it and this year we are thinking about doing the same; however we don't know where we are going to go. I am so Proud of Ryan he is always pushing himself to do more in his profession and I am grateful to be able to call him my husband and the father of our children one day. We will let you know where we decide to go when we know more.

I was sitting here today thinking of the past year and how fast it has flown by. In little over 2 months I will be celebrating my 25th birthday and my 1st anniversary, it is crazy what has happened and how quickly it flies by. Ryan and I are planning a wonderful weekend away for our anniversary and a Coyotes game for my 25th birthday. There is nothing better than going to a Coyotes game with my husband on my special day.

My mom is having foot surgery at the end of March and in April she will be flying out here for a few weeks, I haven't seen my mom since my wedding and it will be so great to be able to spend a few weeks with her.

So far the beginning of this year is busy and I can only imagine whats in store for me. I will keep everyone posted of our journey. Miss everyone very much

Our 1st Christmas

We celebrated our 1st Christmas as 'Husband and Wife' and it did feel different. On Christmas Eve I did a few last minute shopping errands while Ryan was at work, I went to Walgreens and stood in front of the card section for a few minutes thinking 'what card do I get' then it clicked 'oh, we are married now no more "Boyfriend cards" I need a "Husband card. On Chirstmas eve I went to bed alone with Harley while Ryan was hard at work. Harley and I did some cooking wrapped some presents and got ready for Santa.

Christmas morning Ryan got home around 8:30am and I felt like a little girl again, I wanted to sit down and open our presents, and thats what we did. I bought Ryan a Nintendo Wii and some clothes and things, he got me some perfume new shoes and other things.

After we opened presents had breakfast and played the wii we got ready and headed to Fountain Hills for a day of family and fun. Adam and Michelle and Catherine flew in from Tampa earlier in the week and it was really fun to see our niece experience Chirstmas as a 1 year old. We played the Wii talked to family memebers and ate some great food and opened ALOT and I mean ALOT of presents.

For those of you who don't know, Ryan's older brother Adam is a pilot for the airforce and he has been going onn deployments to the middle east for the last 2 years and each deployment is a 3month period. On his last deployment he flew a flag on September 11th in honor of the Carefree Fire crew and the city of Carefree (Where Ryan is the captain). Adam came up for the afternoon and presented Ryan's crew and the town council their flag and pictures. Here is a picture of Adam and Ryan. (They look like twins I know). We are very proud of Adam and his dedication to his country, Thank you Adam
